As much as the landscaping company has been mowing the parks and common areas; I’m disappointed that they have allowed weeds and dandelions to grow in the parks, in the grass strips between the sidewalk and street and in the alley access areas. This is the first time in the past 4 years that I have noticed this neglect. Please fix this, I take care of my lawn and I don’t want to look at or contend with weeds that aren’t mine.

Yes, this is a very bad year for dandelions and other weeds due to the wet spring. Botanical is working on the problem and treating the affected areas as they arise. It would be very costly to spray the entire lawn areas and most of the areas are weed free. Botanical strives to eliminate the problem before the weeds go to seed.

Took my kids to the pool last weekend on that super nice day only to have to sit on the cement the whole time as all the chairs were taken. There’s only 16 of the recliners. Any chance of getting more please?

Also, I live across from the park by the water fountain and the lights are OFF in the park making it very dark outside. What has happened?

And finally, it sure would be nice to see the planted areas in the parks with colorful perennial flowers that bloom year-after-year instead of nothing. The low-growing bushes are nice but need to be supplemented and would make a world of difference. Thanks!

Thank you for your comments! Here are the results of your questions:

Six new chairs are being delivered today.

The lights are being looked at today and should be working tonight.

We are working on planting some perennials. Maybe we should have a work day; the Parks could buy the plants and owners could help us plant. We would really get a lot more color for our money that way. It’s probably too late to organize this for this year, but we’ll definitely have it in the works for next year.

I think the The Parks looks great.

A destination neighborhood at its best.

I am really amazed at how families leave the pool when they are done using it. I swim in the am and there is nothing worse than walking into the swimming pool and finding trash, banana peels, apple cores and all your children’s toys left behind on the ground. Do you throw that stuff on the floor at your house? Pick up after yourselves and your kids, just because it is not your house does not mean you can just throw it on the ground and expect other people to pick up after you. It’s called a Community Swimming pool for a reason. Due your part….

There seem to be many pool parties happening this year, with people leaving the gates open and no room for neighborood residents to use the pool. I’d like to know your policy on pool parties. It would be nice to know when the pool is scheduled for a party so that we don’t get over there only to find out there is no room in the water or on deck.

Response: Thank you for calling attention to this matter. This is a growing problem that will be addressed at the next Board meeting.
