Thank you for your comments! Here are the results of your questions:

Six new chairs are being delivered today.

The lights are being looked at today and should be working tonight.

We are working on planting some perennials. Maybe we should have a work day; the Parks could buy the plants and owners could help us plant. We would really get a lot more color for our money that way. It’s probably too late to organize this for this year, but we’ll definitely have it in the works for next year.

There seem to be many pool parties happening this year, with people leaving the gates open and no room for neighborood residents to use the pool. I’d like to know your policy on pool parties. It would be nice to know when the pool is scheduled for a party so that we don’t get over there only to find out there is no room in the water or on deck.

Can you please tell me the color of the fence paint and the brand so we can take care of the re-painting?

    Thank you

The new re-route/detour on Metolius is horrible. It wastes gas and time. Tell me again why the Sleepy Hollow Road isn’t open??????? What about Meek Trail in T-row??

Yes, this is a hassle – but our only option. As stated in The Parks HOA Newsletter on August 13:

The emergency access gates on Cultus Lake Drive and Todd Lake Court will not be opened during this project. This decision was made because the access roads are not designed for regular vehicle use. The access on Cultus Lake is not wide enough for vehicles to pass safely at the point of the gate. This access is road is also very close to existing homes. Please respect the decision to refrain from using this road.

All living within our neighborhood as well as the Broken Top communities will be impacted by the project. Keep in mind this is a public city street. This is not a private road that we own or control. Although it is easy to call and voice frustration about this project, the contact information included in this update is should be used for safety concerns or specific questions. As more project information is available, updates will be made available via newsletter updates such as this. This includes project phase changes or timeline changes. Again, please use the contact information respectfully and remember the contractor is working to complete this project in the least amount of time possible.

Email from Jeff England with Project Contact Information:
Taylor Northwest is doing the work. They are fully aware of your concerns and, as always, will do their best to reasonably accommodate the needs of the neighborhood while maintaining a productive work schedule.

Hi. I am a Parks owner and have two raccoons that are climbing a ponderosa that is right next to my bedroom window and side patio and my dog is barking at them nearly every night. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can discourage them or actually get them to move on? I had a problem last year but didn’t put out my small fountain this year because they would come for the water. They might be back because the pool (which is across the street from me) is now closed. Not sure why they are suddenly back and climbing the tree all night long. THANKS!

Has there ever been a consideration for locking mailboxes or can I install one of my own? Our little neighbor kids keep getting into my mail box with no malice intended; I think they just can’t remember which one is theirs. I get a fair amount of financial mail and don’t want it being taken out of my box. Thanks.

The security of mailboxes is a subject to be discussed at the next HOA meeting, this Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Cascade Middle School Library, 6:30. Anyone with concerns regarding this – and all other HOA issues – are urged to attend.

I appreciate the HOA supplying doggy waste bags; however would like to suggest consideration be given to using biodegradable bags (like the ones used by Bend Park and Rec.) They are the perfect size and much better for our environment. I have found cost efficient resources online and assume NWAM would easily find resources as well. Thank you for considering this alternative!
