April 10, 2012:
Over this past weekend, a suspect who was breaking into vehicles here in The Parks was arrested. Also, Lena our Bulletin delivery person has reported that 2 – 4 newspapers are being stolen each week, which results in a big expense out of her pocket. If you see any of this going on, please call the police: 541-693-6911. And of course, make sure that your vehicles are parked in your garage!

March 7, 2012:

DAVID KRUGER
My wife (Karen) and I moved to Central Oregon and “The Parks” in 2006, from Eugene. We have four children between us and three grandchildren with two more on the way. We enjoy the life style of Central Oregon and our favorite hobbies include golf, camping, fishing, white water rafting and traveling.

I have had a successful and rewarding thirty-year career with a commercial construction company based in Eugene. I learned many skills along the thirty plus years of working for this company, including journeyman carpenter, superintendent, project manager, company HR, safety director, estimator and office manager. Having started out as an apprentice carpenter and ultimately retired from that company as vice-president, part-owner and director of a satellite commercial construction office here in Bend. I served for 6 years on the state carpentry apprenticeship board and also on the design development committee for the expansion of Hayward Field track facility at the University of Oregon.

In 2008 I was asked to work with a developer based in Denver Colorado, as Director of Design Development on numerous projects around the country. I was also their Owners Representative for a multi-million dollar project located in the Old Mill District.

I am currently semi-retired and consulting with developers as needed and have been an active volunteer for Pole, Pedal, Paddle, The Sage Brush Classic, Volunteer Connect and The Boy Scouts of America.

FRED FISCHBACH
I have lived in Central Oregon since 2002 and the Parks for (3) years and have served on the Parks HOA Board of Directors as Treasurer for the last (2) years. I have enjoyed my Board activities and look forward to serving the Parks community in the future. I will work to serve all homeowners managing our operations, maintaining our Reserve Funding, while keeping our monthly HOA Fees at a reasonable level. Thanks in advance for your support.

My business experience includes managing my own design, manufacture & marketing company for over 21 years, I have also served in a number of positions on homeowners boards over the years and presently serve as the Executive Director of the Jack London Foundation, a non-profit organization in Glen Ellen, California.

SCOTT MORGAN
I have been on neighborhood boards, I currently sit on two for-profit company boards, one of which I am the Chairman.  I have been CEO of a National firm with over 200 employees and clients in 25 states.  I have lived in Bend for a total of 10 years and previously lived in Broken Top.  My desire is to become a board member and help out with the current speeding, vandalism etc issues facing this great neighborhood.

SYLVIA MORRISON
My name is Sylvia Morrison, and I am a candidate for The Parks Board of Directors. Since moving into my home in Phase 1 of The Parks in May 2001, I’ve worked to protect the unique qualities of this beautiful neighborhood. In 2005, I was part of the team which succeeded in establishing The Parks as an independent association, separate from The Broken Top Homeowners’ Association. Also, I served on the first Board of Directors elected when the homeowners took over management of the Homeowners’ Association from the developer.

For the past few years, I’ve served as a member of the Design Review Committee. As one of the “original” homeowners in The Parks, I know the history of the neighborhood, and I’m dedicated to doing what I can to maintain the landscaping and open spaces which continue to attract new homeowners and protect property values.
